How it works
This tool stamps clean page numbers along the bottom edge of every page in your PDF. Choose between a plain number or the 1 / 12 style that shows the total, and between bottom-center and bottom-right placement. The numbering respects each page's orientation, so rotated or landscape pages get their numbers where a reader expects them.
It's the finishing touch for merged documents: when you combine several files with the Merge tool, the result has no continuous numbering — run it through this tool and the whole document reads as one. Same for print handouts, dissertations and reports that need numbering the source application didn't provide.
As always on this site, the file is processed entirely in your browser: no upload, no account, no watermark in exchange, and no limit on page count. Your original file stays untouched on your device — you download a numbered copy.
Frequently asked questions
Can I start numbering from a page other than 1?
Not yet — numbering always starts at 1 on the first page. Custom start numbers and skipping a cover page are on the roadmap.
Will numbers overlap my existing footer?
Numbers sit 24 points (about 8 mm) above the bottom edge in a small, unobtrusive gray. If your document already has content exactly there, choose bottom-right instead of center, or vice versa.
Does this change the quality of my pages?
No — the only change is the added number text. Everything else in the PDF is untouched, and the original file on your device is never modified.
